One day, I was watching our maintenance department work on a piece of machinery from about 15 feet away. They killed the power to the entire machine which also turned off the PC and monitor that was attached to it. When they thought they fixed the problem, they turned the power back on. However, I noticed the monitor didn’t turn back on. One of the maintenance workers that was maybe a little over 5 feet tall and had a belly that made him look over 9 months pregnant walked around to the front of the monitor. His first instinct wasn’t to press the power button or check the power cable but rather hit the side of the monitor to see if that would fix the problem. I couldn’t believe what I was watching. It was like watching a caveman try to figure out how to turn it on. I casually walk over and press the power button on the side of the monitor. To his surprise the monitor turned on. Let’s just say that is a maintenance person I will never ask to fix anything.
