Have you ever gotten into an argument with someone (maybe a spouse, friend, family member, or significant other) and immediately following the tense argument you did something foolish or embarrassing? This is a story that goes something like that.
As I had mentioned before, we had a lot of fights during my tenure at the casino. Some got to be a little tense whereas others were so zany they could have been accompanied with a rendition of “Yakety Sax,” by Boots Randolph. This story involves the latter.
This particular story begins with two girls that were friends. Both were smokers and went outside to enjoy a cigarette on a mild October night. There were a fair amount of people on the terrace that both girls seemed to know, and both were interacting with. The girls got into a verbal argument with one another and proceeded to separate for a short time. One of the women went to a group of women that she knew; the other went to a group of men that she knew. The woman with the men lit a cigarette; the night, however, was fairly windy and the next thing that I knew the woman’s hair caught on fire. The hair appeared to be a wig so this was not noticed by the woman right away. After a solid 15-20 seconds passed one of the men she was talking to could be seen pointing at her hair. She immediately freaked out and started to pat out the fire with her hand. She got the fire out and noticed that her friend she just had the argument with laughing to the point of nearly falling out of her chair. The two proceeded to fight for a time before they were separated by Security.
