Front Desk Associate(Clerk)

Part-time

The company is looking for an upbeat (warm body), outgoing (has the ability to speak), and friendly individual (is not unreceptive) to join our front office team (team of one “You”). Previous guest service experience required (optional), hotel experience preferred but not needed (someone who slept in a hotel at least once). Experience with the property management system is a plus (highly unlikely). A flexible (never ending) schedule including (which includes) days, nights, weekends, and holidays is needed with no exceptions (life).

The Front Desk serves as the primary (only) contact for all guests throughout their stay and acts as a coordinator (buffer between) for all other departments, while also making reservations, checking guests in and out of the hotel, balancing accounts, processing reports and completing other assigned (unwanted)tasks/duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work within the brand and company’s standards (do as we say not as we do)
  • Accurately (try to) execute/maintain reservations, arrivals, and departures
  • Responsible (Take the blame) for cash balancing and credit card processing
  • Operate PBX phone (a device like a cell phone) and coordinate (answer) calls as required/needed (desired)
  • Learn (Watch or read) emergency procedures of hotel and how to handle each situation
  • Protect guest’s privacy including room number and personal information (Don’t tell his wife!!)
  • Know makeup of hotel and surrounding area including local attractions (Bars, strip joints, etc…)
  • Complete (Waste time doing) daily reports and procedures as required by management
  • Keep work area and back office clean and organized
  • Set (forget) requests for wake up calls for guests as needed
  • Resolve (ignore) guest complaints/concerns quickly and efficiently
  • Maintains high standards of personal appearance and grooming (Doesn’t smell like weed and wears pants)
  • Cross train and assist in all other departments as needed (do others work and not get paid more for it)
  • Ensure security of building and safety of guests
  • Assist other departments (slackers) as needed
  • Other duties (creepy back rubs) and items assigned by manager (everyone except you)
